Our dynamic training programs give you, the educator (or parent), more than just the average children's yoga training: we offer professional development programs that introduce a variety of methods that can be customized & adapted for students of all ages and abilities, making it a perfect complement to any educational, sensory, therapeutic or recreational setting.
Below is a brief summary of our current live workshop offerings. (Each workshop runs for 4 hours unless otherwise specified. If a current date is not posted, please call for tentative schedule updates.)

Workshop Descriptions:

S.M.Art Kids® Adaptive Yoga Facilitator's Training (Level I):

This *live and interactive 10 week hybrid training is our signature program. We will teach you step-by-step how to find the fun in movement and facilitate children's yoga classes for health, enrichment & learning.
By simplifying, breaking down & using yoga-based and other complimentary whole child learning methods, you can not only improve  your student’s overall physical health, but also teach vital techniques for self-regulation, stress management and meaningful positive social interaction.  Learn to use yoga based methods to improve a child's sensory, academic, social and emotional learning and encourage a sense of self-reliance and inclusion. 
You will be fully supported as you learn how to design programs for all skill levels, adapt, adjust and pace your communication, as well as integrate breathing & movement techniques for children with a variety of physical, cognitive and social challenges. You will learn how to create a fun, welcoming, supportive & inclusive learning environments for all children using simple and readily available tools. 
This 10 hour live workshop includes a pre-workshop module of *blended learning (approximately 50 hours), 90 minutes of one-to one coaching (via face to face session, phone or skype), a 140 page full color interactive e-book  manual/workbook, lesson plans, game & activity instructions, traditional and adapted postures, an opportunity to chat, network and brainstorm with other parents & professionals, a certificate of completion, a listing on our website and access to more than 300 articles, videos and other resources.

S.M.Art Kids® Adaptive Yoga Facilitator's Training (Level II) - Coming Soon

This workshop will go a step further than the Level I course and show you how to design and implement a customized therapeutic yoga-based program for a child with severe challenges that is not able to attend or does not have access to a local community yoga class. Pre-requisite will be S.M.Art Kids Level I Training. Licensed & practicing OT/PT or pediatric nurses will be waived of this requirement.

S.M.Art Kid® Foundations

For parents of children, teens and young adults with significant sensory, physical or cognitive challenges.Gentle and adapted movement provides much needed activity & relaxation for children with a variety of special needs. Learn how to adapt traditional beginner’s yoga, Tai Chi and other time-tested techniques for children with mild or severe autism, AHD, Tourette’s, Down syndrome & other challenges. This is a hands-on workshop, designed just for parents & caregivers that will focus primarily on the sensory systems, anatomy, physiology & adaptive postures. A self-guided component is included in this foundational program. Sessions may be conducted via skype.

S.M.Art Kids® in the Classroom:

This classroom-friendly version of our signature S.M.Art Kids® Adaptive Yoga Program is one of our most popular. Learn how to integrate simple movement & relaxation techniques into the daily classroom schedule for the purpose of sensory integration, reducing stress & tension, improving concentration & cooperation and facilitating a more engaged and efficient learning environment. Registration includes supplies and a manual. Participants receive a certificate of participation and a listing on the BodyLogique.com website.

Sensory Stretch™- Adaptive Yoga for Special Needs Children 

Gentle and adapted movement provides much needed sensory, physical & relaxation activity for children with a variety of special needs. Learn how to adapt traditional beginner’s yoga, Tai Chi and other time-tested techniques for children with mild or severe autism, AHD, Tourette’s, Down syndrome & others. This workshop is for those who do not want to facilitate classes, but rather use adaptive yoga as a part of their profession or with a family member. This is a hands-on workshop that will focus primarily on anatomy, physiology  & adaptive postures. Participants will be on the floor part of the time, so comfortable clothing is recommended. If you need accomodations due to a range of motion concern, please contact us to discuss. Registration includes hands-on simulation, a manual with color photos &  illustrations, a certificate of participation and a listing on our BodyLogique.com website.

R.E.A.Ch™ Relaxation Education for Adults & Children - (Coming Fall/2013)

The R.E.A.Ch™ Facilitator's course is composed of 4 distinct modules that is offered over 2 days as an entire program. The 4 modules are:
  • Calm & Composed Relaxation Education for Adults (4 hours)
  • Calm & Connected Relaxation Education for Kids (4 hours)
  • Calm & Confident Relaxation Education for Teens (4 hours)
  • Calm & Creative: Relaxation Education Through Art (4 hours)

S.A.F.E Spaces™- Creating Sensory Adaptive Friendly Environments:

An overwhelming environment can be the root of depression, anxiety, headaches, aggression, avoidance behaviors, social timid-ness, and poor academic performance. S.A.F.E Spaces™ takes you step by step through the process of identifying & minimizing sensory triggers in the classroom, the home and beyond. Learn how to design soothing spaces, using what you already have to promote a sense of safety, reduce ‘stim’ behaviors, encourage calm, self-control & engagement & support positive social interactions, for all types of learners. Registration includes a manual, professional instruction, a certificate of participation and a personal S.A.F.E Space™ consultation (via photos/video).

S.M.Art Stories: Storytelling for Active Engagement

Learn how to support Social, Cultural & Literacy education, as well as positive character development, through interactive storytelling. The program is infused with props, puppets, music, games and improvisation, presented in an inclusive, dynamic and fun, group participation format. Participants will learn how to take a story or scenario and make it a living active learning experience. Certificate of participation will be awarded to each participant.

S.M.Art Games: Finding the Fun in Movement

This 4 hour live interactive workshop is designed to complement the S.M.Art Kids Adaptive Yoga® Facilitator's Training, but can also be helpful to educators, therapists, parents or anyone who works with children.  
Learn how to create movement games that can be used as a dynamic tool for improving health, sensory and motor functions, cooperation, learning readiness, social interaction & inclusion.
$150 Includes intensive 4 hour Interactive Training, A workbook, resources and dozens of game ideas for building a variety of skills.

What A Child's Food Cravings are Telling You


Nutrition is important to a growing child’s health & learning. Cravings happen when the body, emotions or environment goes out of balance, and can lead to nutrition deficits. A child’s cravings can give clues as to what systems are out of balance and how to correct them. This workshop will guide you to what to look for and ways to keep cravings at a minimum. Includes manual, recipes and a certificate of completion.

Common Scents: Using Aromatherapy Safely and Effectively  (Coming Soon)

Aromatherapy has been used for thousands of years to stimulate or calm the senses. This workshop will discuss ways to use aromatherapy safely in the home. Course will include a certificate of completion, a workbook and a take-home project.
